Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQ
Redpoint is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and its potential impact on travel. Travelers should consult the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) websites for the most up-to-date information on the Coronavirus outbreak.
Please note that due to the World Health Organization (WHO) announcement declaring Coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic, COVID-19 is a foreseen event and certain coverages will not applywww.xxxhdtubefree.com.
If you are considering canceling your trip due to the COVID-19, please read your insurance policy thoroughly. Generally, fear of travel is not a covered event.
Redpoint maintains a network of rotary and fixed wing air providers globally to provide best in class air ambulance services and our providers have already transported COVID-19 cases back to the United States globally, to include, Europe, Asia, Mexico and the Caribbean.
While transport of the COVID-19 positive patient is possible, the overall health of our travelers always takes priority. Restrictions to being eligible for transport include many factors and considerations, some of which are as follows:
- Due to current transport challenges with COVID being more governmental restrictions, cross border movement is limited
- Often the best immediate care will be within regional centers of excellence
- Height/weight restrictions due to the transport isolation units
- Government restrictions may prohibit or prevent the ability to transport patients
- Decisions regarding transport will be made by Redpoint after consultation with the local treating physician and our medical team
Am I covered if I contract COVID-19?
If you contract COVID-19 prior to your departure, you could be covered for Trip Cancellation if there is a confirmed diagnosis, including proof of illness from your doctor that states you are medically unable to travel at the time of departure. If you become ill with COVID-19 while on a covered trip, you could be covered for Medical Expense and Trip Interruption benefits if there is a confirmed diagnosis, including proof of illness from a doctor. These coverages are subject to the terms and conditions of your insurance policy. Please review your travel insurance policy.
I am worried about traveling due to COVID-19 and I want to cancel my travel plans. Am I covered?
Trip cancellation solely for concern or fear of travel associated with sickness, epidemic or pandemic, including (COVID-19), is not covered.
The U.S. State Department has advised against non-essential travel. Am I covered due to the U.S. State Department warning?
There is no coverage for this specific reason. However, we suggest you contact your travel providers to seek a refund. Should you have other unused, non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs, consult the Unforeseen Events portion of your insurance policy. You are encouraged to file a claim if one of the covered reasons could possibly apply to your situation.
What happens if the airline cancels my flight due to COVID-19?
If the flight to or from your destination is cancelled due to COVID-19, there would be no coverage under the insurance policy for the canceled flight itself. However, we suggest you contact the airline to seek a refund for your flight. Should you have other unused, non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs, consult the Unforeseen Events portion of your insurance policy. You are encouraged to file a claim if one of the covered reasons could possibly apply to your situation.
I or a traveling companion is diagnosed with COVID-19 and is subject to compulsory quarantine by the treating doctor – are we all covered for any additional accommodation and travel costs incurred?
If a Traveling Companion or Family member traveling with you contract COVID-19 while on a covered trip, you could be covered for Trip Interruption benefits if there is a confirmed diagnosis, including proof of illness from a doctor. Under the Trip Interruption benefit, we will pay for the following:
(a) Unused, non-refundable travel arrangements prepaid to the Travel Supplier(s).
(b) Additional transportation expenses incurred by You to the Return Destination or from the place that You left the Covered Trip to the place You may rejoin the Covered Trip.
(c) Additional transportation expenses incurred by You to reach the original Destination if You are delayed and leave after Your Scheduled Departure Date

Am I covered if denied boarding by my airline due to temperature check?
There is no coverage for this specific reason.
Is the cost of my Visas covered if I must cancel due being diagnosed with COVID-19 and therefore unable to travel?
We will pay You the amount of forfeited Payments or Deposits for the Covered Trip up to the limit stated in the Schedule of Benefits when such Covered Trip is cancelled prior to Your Scheduled Departure Date. “Payments or Deposits” means the cash, check, or credit card amounts actually paid for Your Covered Trip. Certificates; vouchers; frequent traveler rewards, miles or points; discounts and/or credits applied (in part or in full) towards the cost of Your Covered Trip are not Payments or Deposits as defined herein.
Am I covered for trip cancellation should the US be locked down again?
There is no coverage for this specific reason.
